Want to lock down
Nobody is going to hand you a job in the film industry,
but that doesn't mean opportunities don't exist.
Unfortunately, it's a long way from starting out to achieving your long-term creative goals,
and the lack of a clear pathway means a lot of people lose their way before they get there.
You probably know someone with a story like this:
- They needed to pay the bills so they took on a 9-5 "real" job and no longer have the flexibility to work on film projects.
- Freelance work was inconsistent so they changed focus and went back to study in another field... or never left uni at all.
- They got work on set as an assistant but ended up with no time to develop their own creative skills.
- They took on every film-related opportunity that came their way, then looked back and realised they'd been working on everyone else's projects and were no closer to doing what they REALLY wanted to do.
Your journey can be different...
THIS IS A FREE 5-DAY COURSE THAT WILL HELP YOU PRIORITISE YOUR CREATIVE CAREER GOALS FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS.
EACH DAY FOR 5 DAYS YOU'LL RECEIVE AN EMAIL WITH A LINK TO YOUR VIDEO AND WORKSHEETS.
This isn’t about writing down your long-term goals (although it will help you to figure those out too). It's about defining the income stream, creative project and habit you're going to commit to over the next six months to accelerate your career.
If you're ready to do the work and build yourself a future in the film industry, this course is for you.
Sign up now and we'll send you your first video and worksheet.
SPECIFIC, ACTIONABLE GOALS
this is not a course for you to sit back and dream about maybe directING an oscar-winning film SOMEDAY.
it's about prioritising the three things that will make the biggest difference for your career over the next six months, and coming up with a plan to make them happen.
Everything you're about to learn is strategy-focused, with specific actions to complete as you go.
Over five days of videos and actionable tasks, you'll figure out:
- How you're going to make money and still leave time for filmmaking
- A creative goal that will move you closer to your long-term plan, and
- One key habit that will make a huge impact on your big picture goals
Plus, I'll show you exactly how I prioritise my own goals and turn them into monthly, weekly and daily tasks.
If you don't know how to make the leap from where you are to achieving your dream career, or even if you're not quite sure what your long-term goal is, this course will set you on the right path.
Best of all, it's 100% free.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHY IS THIS free?
I've had some amazing mentors share their knowledge with me over the past ten years and wanted a chance to pay it forward. I also believe that the clearer people are about their goals, the better it is for the industry as a whole.
I love passing on what I've learnt, but there's only so many coffee meetings I can have before my own creative projects start to suffer through lack of time, so this is my opportunity to help as many people as I can.
How long will it take me?
Each day's video and worksheets should take around 20-30 minutes. You might get through it more quickly, or feel free to take as long as you want! Once you've signed up, you'll have lifetime access to all of the course materials, so you can go back anytime to catch up on anything you miss.
WHO ARE YOU, ANYWAY?
I'm Kirsty Stark. I've worked in the film industry for ten years, as a camera assistant, cinematographer, and producer, on everything from corporate projects and music videos through to web series and feature films. I started out as a freelancer and now run my own production company, Epic Films, which recently won Breakthrough Business of the Year at the Screen Producers Australia Awards.
I've also done a lot of guest lecturing, speaking and consulting for film schools, industry organisations, businesses and festivals, including SXSW, AFTRS, Adelaide Film Festival, Wide Angle Tasmania, Screen Territory and the Media Resource Centre.
